Video: Level 1 arms as colours

    This time I speak!

I thought I’d do another, slightly longer (5 minutes) video since I enjoyed doing the last one so much and you guys seemed to like it!

This one is of me doing the level 1 horizontal arms, but with a twist!  Totally unedited, so you get to watch me struggle and gurn and even jump when I get interrupted (Warning: British guy swearing at 2:55)!

Feel free to laugh and/or comment.  Thanks.

Love it James!! Must say that I was very tense watching this as I know exactly the feeling of doing the dance as hard as possible – it’s really darned uncomfortable – emotionally I mean.
You do want to take deep sighs and breathe. It is just so crazy.
I think it’s great that you’re putting videos up. It will help all us shivanauts to keep at it.
Thanks so much for taking the time to do this, you are such a sweetheart for sharing!

Yes, thank you for sharing these!!!

I’m neck-deep in a project that won’t end until Friday, and trying not to feel guilty about not doing any ShivaNata until it’s done—unless in my head counts??—and watching your videos is making me excited about starting up again next weekend.

I don’t know that I’ll be brave enough to try colours, since the numbers are tricky enough for now, but I admire you for doing it! : )

@Lynn Crymble: The deep breathing is also very helpful when “the burn” starts to develop in the arms. Stubborn determination gets me through the pain barrier, and the emotional one too. :)

I actually enjoy making these vids – so I’ll keep trying to think up stuff to put up and share if they continue to be helpful. Any requests anyone? ;)

@Carole: Hugs! Congratulations on your commitment to your project. I don’t think you’re procrastinating, but if I feel the way you describe I remind myself of Havi’s equation *flashback to uni lectures with so-and-so’s equation of blah-de-blah*:

Procrastination = You processing or letting something percolate + fear + guilt

When I remind myself of the reason for a delay (e.g. I’m working on something else first), the guilt (if not the fear) often dissolves straight away! *takes a moment to be grateful for Havi*

yelgrenblued. My brain melted watching that. Although the jump made me giggle :D

@Elsa: hehehe – brain melting is good, you get to re-mould then ;)

Just wanted to chime in with another “thanks for inspiring all us shivanauts” comment. My DVD is on the way and I’ve been putting off even reading Havi’s introductory material. Seeing you actually work through a sequence (complete with “where was I” moments) gives me hope that I’ll be able to try.

Also, I just found a site, Learning to Love You More, that creates semi-random “assignments” that you can complete (and they’ll post your responses/completions). You’d be a natural at #64, “Teach Us an Exercise.” Just sayin’. http://learningtoloveyoumore.com/reports/64/64.php

@Wendy Cholbi: Do have a look through Havi’s stuff. Remember, there’s no guilt, by reading one sheet you are committing to nothing, you just read a sheet, out of curiosity if you will.

Plus, I’ve seen people tweet about getting their kids to do it with them, so you could have something that’s good for bodies and brains to share with your kids & an extra activity to give them!

Loving the site, thanks for the link. It does look like fun – I think it might take more than a few photos to explain Dance of Shiva though, even just the Level 1 arms! :)

@Sonia Simone | Remarkable Communication: Oh I cannot take any of the credit for the idea! This was a suggestion from Havi – but you have got me thinking that I could create my own without too much fear…. I shall have to think on that.

    11.   Qrystal on January 4th, 2010 at 7:51 pm

Wow… now I’m definitely intrigued. I’ve been reading Havi’s blogs sporadically for awhile, and the Shiva Nata stuff is constantly piquing my interest. I want more mental clarity, focus, and to understand my patterns more! But am I ready to buy it?

I wasn’t sure, because until today and finding this video of yours, I had never actually seen any footage of anyone doing it, except a mindblowing one of Havi going amazingly fast and fluid. It’s so much more revealing to see what I can expect at a non-pro level! I had heard rumours of Shiva Nata being systematic and mathematical, but just saying it didn’t convince me. Seeing you doing these combinations of colours, on the other hand, has me convinced that my mathy mind will totally love Shiva Nata.

So, thank you! I’m subscribing to this blog NOW, and when I’m sure the time is right for me to spend the money (I’m pretty sure that’s soon!) I will be using your link (an affiliate one, I hope?) to order the Starter Kit.
